Overview

The Ciudad Juarez Mexico Temple is the 71st operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and the 3rd temple completed in Mexico.


History

The Ciudad Juárez Mexico Temple was the third temple built in Mexico and the second built in Chihuahua, following the Colonia Juarez Chihuahua Mexico Temple (1999).

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Ciudad Juárez Mexico Temple was held on the same day as the groundbreaking ceremony for the Villahermosa Mexico Temple.

President Gordon B. Hinckley presided at the first of six dedicatory sessions for the Ciudad Juárez Mexico Temple on February 26, 2000. President Thomas S. Monson presided at the subsequent sessions while President Hinckley left to dedicate the Hermosillo Sonora Mexico Temple the following morning.
